"IT Infrastructure: 16 Hot Companies Running Under the Radar"

As a matter of routine, eWEEK reporters and editors talk to companies and analysts virtually every day. As a result, we often come across a lot of fresh new ideas -- or at least new takes -- on conventional IT, whether it's in the data center, on your desk or in your pocket. This slide show highlights a number of companies that at least one eWEEK reporter sees as pushing the bar higher in several different markets. The markets take in a wide range of current IT, including hot topics such as virtual desktop infrastructure, cloud storage, data center management, virtual databases, cloud-based e-mail, data center monitoring and secure file transfer. You may have heard of some of these companies; others you may not know about. But, in general, these are not household-name IT providers. We have listed them in no particular order.
